Jen Williamson has been a practicing dental hygienist for over 17 years, working in a variety of settings including private practice, public health and dental education. She has been at Concorde Career College Dental Hygiene School in Aurora, Colorado for the past 5 years as a full time didactic and clinical instructor. She is lead instructor for Periodontology, Radiology, Local Anesthesia, Pharmacology and Public Health. In addition to her current academic responsibilities, she works one day per week in private practice. Prior to moving to Colorado, Jen was a clinical instructor at the University of Oklahoma Dental Hygiene School, her alma mater. She was recently a guest speaker for a periodontal classification CE course in Seattle, Washington.
Jen is an admired and well-respected faculty member who regularly assists in training new clinical faculty. Her passion for teaching includes the goal of not to simply impart knowledge, but to foster the love of learning to her students. The Concorde program is an accelerated dental hygiene program and Jen’s extensive science background has given her the unique ability to convey difficult material in a clear and concise, easy to understand way.
Jen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with academic honors. Prior to seeking her BSDH, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She is currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in human relations with an emphasis in adult education.
Jen currently lives in Castle Rock, Colorado. Despite her busy professional career, she takes pleasure in spending time with her 3 children and 2 dogs, exploring the beautiful outdoors of Colorado. She even finds time to train for half marathons in her spare time!
